We visited Seceda on a recent trip to the Dolomites in Italy. We took a Seceda cable car up to the top of the mountain and spent the day wandering around the meadows and admiring the truly incredible views!
There are different Seceda cable car ride options to choose from – we chose the Round trip Ortesei – Furnes – Seceda option. Click here to see the Seceda cable car price list and options.
Taking the cable car meant we had plenty of energy for hiking, but we were still ravenous and ready for a meal by the end of the day!
One of our favorite things about the Dolomite region is that although the mountains are in Italy, there are strong German influences. We loved enjoying a German beer while having an Italian meal! It particularly hit the spot after a day of hiking.
We finished our day relaxing at a rifugio (mountain huts you can find throughout this region that offer food and drinks to hikers) called ‘Baita Sofie‘, and watching the clouds move through the mountains. This rifugio overlooked a field where Highland cows lived, so we enjoyed watching the chef (complete with a chef’s hat!) come out to feed the cows leftover spaghetti.
As a couple who loves travel, loves good food and loves physical activity, it’s hard to beat a day like this. ️
