Nature lovers who love to explore locally or are looking for romantic and free things to do in Brisbane should try the Nudgee Beach Boardwalk for a romantic and relaxing stroll. It’s a scenic, peaceful walk – around 2km long – through mangroves, next to the river and even ocean views!

It’s a great spot for taking photos so don’t forget your camera.

Consider packing a few picnic items as there are plenty of seats where you can sit down during the walk and enjoy a snack or a drink while soaking in the natural beauty around you. Try to spot the cute crab colonies during the low tide!

It’s also wheelchair accessible as there are no stairs. It might be a good idea to take mosquito spray – we’ve luckily not needed it yet when we went but will keep carrying it with us just in case. It’s such a beautiful spot, we’ve been back a few times. Next time we will be taking some sun protection and caps for the not-so-shady parts of the walk.

1 Review for Nudgee Beach Wetlands Boardwalk

Great review

5/ 5

I am a bird photographer and have enjoyed Nudgee wetlands so many times. If you’re into birds, there are many beautiful species, including the beautiful Rainbow Bee-eater, a few different species of Kingfishers, just to name a few. The boardwalk isn’t too long and everywhere you walk is surrounded by trees, so you shouldn’t get too sunburnt but always protect your skin. I always take insect repellent with me when I photograph the Rainbow Bee-eaters nesting in the sand, I do get a few midges.. Look out for random kayakers going for a paddle past the sandbanks, I always give them a wave. Plenty of parking spaces and bins for your rubbish. Anyway, hope you get out there for a walk along the boardwalk and enjoy the beauty of Nudgee…Darren Brown Photography
