We chose to get married at Kilcoy Farmstay, now Somerset Sunset wedding venue because we could turn it into whatever we wanted.

Our wedding was completely do-it-yourself, even down to our seating. My beloved uncle who unfortunately passed in the first week of May 2020, grew and baled hay just for our day. It was a lovely addition to our country style wedding venue.

I grew up in the area, so Somerset Dam holds a special piece of my heart.

We held our reception under a beautiful tree at the back of the property. Our reception was held under a tipi marquee on the front lawn, overlooking Somerset Dam. Our accommodation was onsite in the Heritage Listed Queenslander, and we had guests stay in the bunkhouse.

There are beautiful spots for photos all over this remarkable property. Our wedding anniversary is on the 7th of May and it’s been a lovely trip down memory lane to write this recommendation. ❤
