I Heart Brownies Bakery & Cafe

After dreaming about the heart-shaped brownies shared on the I Heart Brownies Instagram account @iheartbrownies for so long, it was finally time for my husband and I to go there for a romantic date!

Arriving there, we noticed the parking next to the dessert shop has a white wall full of kissing lips as well as a great big heart just around the corner that is perfect taking photos – it has to be one of Brisbane’s most Instagrammable spots for couples!

The I Heart Brownies Cafe and Bakery itself is gorgeous on the outside. It reminds me of the famous Peggy Porschen Parlour in London that I’m hoping to visit one day but I was delighted I don’t have to travel thousands of miles to find something equally unique. Instead, I feel spoilt that this romantic gem is in our hometown of Brisbane!

Walking through the picturesque red doors, we were welcomed with the smell of freshly baked brownies. I couldn’t believe all the fantastic flavours one can choose from – Nutella, Double Chocolate, Cherry Coconut, Peanut Butter, Hazelnut and even more! Yes, we were in a brownie paradise!

After looking at the menu too, (y)umming and ahhing, my first choice was a Peanut Butter Ice-Cream Sandwich and hubby’s was the Hazelnut Ice-Cream Sandwich. Brownies can be ordered to take away in a variety of gorgeous boxes.

While waiting for our order, we sat down at the cute tables and chairs and had a look around. The dessert shop is beautifully decorated with cactusses and hanging plants.

Soon we had the most perfect heart-shaped brownies in front of us, and it was love at first bite. They tasted as good as they looked – crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.

So glad we ordered the ice-cream with it because it soaked into the brownies, giving it additional levels of crunchiness or softness, divinely delicious and exceeding all expectations!

On the way out, I ordered a Nutella brownie for later – that was the plan, but I couldn’t resist it for very long at all – we ended up sharing it during the drive home!

We definitely recommend visiting I Heart Brownies if you are looking for something romantic to do in Brisbane – it’s the ideal spot for a date, and the brownies make great romantic gift ideas.

Have certain dietary requirements? I Heart Brownies Cafe and Bakery are proudly 100% gluten-free and even have a Vegan flavour!

The only thing this lovely cafe and bakery needs is more people to enjoy their amazing efforts!
