One of the best free date ideas Brisbane couples can enjoy together is exploring the 56-hectare Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens. Spend only a few hours there or even a full day.
Nature lovers are sure to appreciate that the Mt Coot-that Botanical Gardens are Australia’s leading subtropical botanic gardens according to the visitor map supplied by Brisbane City Council (click here to view it). Best of all -it’s FREE entry!

Lovers of travel can also look forward to seeing different plant species from around the world without having to travel there. One of the best spots in the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens to appreciate this is within the stunning Tropical Dome, a very picturesque, Insta worthy attraction with the most beautiful reflections of the geometric roof onto the pond beneath it.
While exploring, we came across a rose statue on a bench and around it, the most beautiful roses in many different varieties and colors – a mini rose garden. I loved every second of admiring the delicate beauties.
Stop by the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens Cafe for a drink and a bite to eat. You’ll have beautiful garden views to appreciate while being seated by the floor-to-ceiling windows. Visit the official Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens Cafe website by clicking here (https://www.botanicgardenscafe.net/) for more information, including their opening times.
There are plenty of spots to relax and enjoy a picnic with your partner in the gardens.
Couples can get married at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens – click here for examples of ceremony setups.
Continue to explore and you’ll find much more!
