I bet you can guess the first of the three most romantic things to do with your loved one in Venice! Everyone probably knows, no romantic escape to Venice is complete without a Gondola ride. However, you should note there is a difference between what one would expect the usual gondola ride to be and …
1.
The ultimate romantic gondola ride
you can have in Venice

The Ultimate Romantic Gondola Experience in Venice
One could share your gondola ride with others if you want to save money but what does the ultimate romantic gondola ride really look and feel like? Imagine floating through the scenic canals of gorgeous Venice on a private gondola that you have all to yourselves. Well, actually there are two additional people you want to include on the gondola with you… the first is a professional accordion player to set the mood and fill the air with stunning sounds. I’ve found some of the most romantic places and experiences in the world feature an accordion player and this is one of them! The next person you want to share your romantic gondola ride with, is a professional singer that serenades love songs to the two of you. Together, the accordion player and the singer create a magical ambience to your romantic gondola ride. The actual experience might only last for an hour two, but these memories will last forever and are worth every extra penny to have!
2.
Hire a professional photographer
for a romantic photo shoot in Venice

Romantic photo shoot in Venice at St. Mark’s square
Ever noticed how hard it can be to take photos of you and your partner together? Venice is not the place you want to return from with only amateur pictures of the incredible romantic getaway you shared there. I highly recommend that you hire a photographer in Venice – leave it to a professional photography service in Venice to capture amazing photos for you. We were fortunate to have the Venetian photographer Angelo from Michaelangelo Venezia as part of our romantic gondola ride experience. He went the extra mile in ensuring he kept up with where the gondola was going and capturing those precious moments for us. As a local, he also organised the best singer and accordion player he knew for us which I was really grateful for. Imagine having to audition the singers before going on a ride! Not sure if any terrible singers are offering to sing on gondola rides, but I wouldn’t want to take the chance to have one spoil such a once-in-a-lifetime experience! The photographer also helped us to make the best of our limited time with him by recommending the most photographic spots in Venice. It can be awkward posing for photos in crowded places but our photographer made us feel at ease. As part of the photography service Michaelangelo Venezia offers, we were given printed postcards of the best photos which we could post to family and friends from Venice.
3.
Treat your lady to handcrafted Cameo jewellery
from the Eridi Jovon shop on the Rialto Bridge
While strolling over one of the most beautiful bridges of the world, be sure to stop at this family-owned jewellery shop Eredi Jovon with one of the most extensive collections of high-quality cameos. I remember this experience so well right down to the words the kind shop owner said to me. “A cameo chooses you,” he said, as I looked carefully at each beautiful face of the intricate cameos before me. Each one pulling my thoughts into a dreamy world of blue and white layers, giving me the sense that I could have once been one of the ladies in the pictures, perhaps in a past life. I took my time until I found the Cameo that made my heart sing. Hubby treated me to a gorgeous set that included a ring, pendant and matching earrings. This grand, romantic gesture of love by my husband-to-be certainly made me feel like a lady. Of the many years of our lives together, it remains one of my most precious and adored gifts and memories he’s given me. While you are around the Rialto Bridge, look out for Rivo Alto restaurant where you can have drinks or lunch with unspoilt views of the bridge and the gondolas going through it.

These are great suggestions!! I love the idea of doing a photoshoot – when I visited Venice, it was really tricky to get a good shot because of the amount of people. Having a professional, who knows the best times and places, is a brilliant suggestion!
This post is so dreamy! I highly agree with hiring a photographer! It’s one of our favorite things to do while traveling in beautiful cities!
